DESIFEST 2026: Canada’s Largest South Asian Music Festival Celebrates 20 Years DESIFEST 2026 marks a historic milestone. This June 19 and 20, DESIFEST returns to Sankofa Square in downtown Toronto for its 20th annual celebration of South Asian music, culture, and community. What began as a bold response to the lack of representation for South Asian artists in Canada has grown into one of the country’s longest-running free cultural festivals. Over the past two decades, DESIFEST has supported more than 1,000 artists and helped raise over $3 million for South Asian arts programming. DESIFEST is a free, two-day South Asian music festival held annually in Toronto. It celebrates emerging and established artists across genres including Bollywood, Punjabi, Tamil, hip hop, R&B, fusion, electronic, and live band performances.
