About

CKDF focuses on reviving the 15th century German system of combat known as the Kunst des Fechtens. We study extant medieval manuscripts in an attempt to reconstruct the KDF to the best of our ability through interpretation of fighting techniques. Our source-based study includes unarmed grappling (ringen), sword, polearm, harness (armor), and mounted (rossfechten). Our members also study more modern systems such as smallsword and saber.
