Hi, my name is Jeff Lacroix and I had been investing for decades by following conventional wisdom - dollar-cost averaging into S&P 500 index fund. One day I realized how horrible my long-term results were. If I continue along that path, I'd be able to retire when I was 106 - that's not an exaggeration, that was literally what I calculated! And that was NOT even an extravagant retirement, that was just to maintain an average lifestyle. In 2018, I took control of my investing through individual stock picking. Not only did I find that I can beat the market with very simple investing (without options, leverage, or short selling), but I really enjoy the process of learning about the companies and evaluating which companies I think are going to be the most successful in the future.
