The Hawaii Chamber Music Festival connects passionate students with world-class artists to create beautiful music. Musical excellence and inspiration are our ways of showing aloha to the islands. Founded in 2018, the Hawaii Chamber Music Festival is a combination of hard work and passion. Honolulu native and ‘Iolani School graduate Chris Yick, now a student double bassist at the Robert McDuffie Center for Strings at Mercer University, is following his musician mentors to create opportunities for chamber music at the highest level for listeners and performers. Built on the aspiration for lifting the hearts and talents of Hawaii’s incredible youth musicians, Yick has created a program that will bring some of the world’s best musicians to the islands, while at the same time exposing those musicians to the moʻomeheu that is Hawaii.
