East Harlem Preservation is a 100% volunteer-driven, bottom-up advocacy organization founded in 2005 to promote and preserve the neighborhood’s history and culture. Our team works to empower residents in East Harlem/El Barrio and surrounding areas by providing free, unfiltered local news and information about local programs and upcoming events on our popular social media accounts, website, email alerts, and video reports. Our members regularly engage in community empowerment campaigns involving affordable housing, social and environmental justice, and government transparency and advocate for the development of sound, community-based alternatives.
