Building Circles works to transform the lives of people with learning disabilities in Gloucestershire, encouraging friendships and providing a social platform so that those who are isolated or lonely benefit as much as everyone else. We do this with the help of our wonderful volunteers who offer their time to provide friendships. In addition, we hold regular social events and other activities like cookery workshops, allotment sessions and a community choir. We also deliver a range of training packages designed to ensure that everyone we work with has the knowledge and education they need to be safe wherever they go. For several years now, we've been delivering abuse prevention training to adults with LD and have since extended this to provide empowering training in many more areas. One unique aspect of this training is that it is peer-led so we employ adults with LD to help us deliver it; and some of our co-trainers are experts by experience which offers a unique perspective.
