The Anderson Monarchs 2012 Barnstorming Tour-A tribute to Jackie Robinson and Negro Leagues Baseball sponsored by Vincera Core Physicians Mission: The Monarchs hope to use the national stage to refute many of the common assumptions about the decline of African American youth playing baseball in our urban communities. The Monarchs are shining examples of what is possible, both athletically and academically, when inner city kids are given the same opportunities as their peers in the more affluent communities. They prove that it's a lack of opportunity, rather than a lack of interest, that prevents more inner city kids from playing baseball at a higher level.
