Dj's are similar to rappers in a sense that they have to be extraordinary in their talents to be recognized. They have to have the ability to identify, control and relate to the crowd that they're performing for. Dj Asiatic is not only a Dj that has that quality, but he developed that quality at an age where most Dj's were still learning how turntables worked. At the tender age of 10, Asiatic was introduced to the world of Hip Hop by his mentor and brother Laurence Smith (LA ONE) who coached him on Hip Hop and the elements that accompanied it. Already the youngest Breaker of the Magnetic Rockers, Asiatic was eager to learn the fundamentals of Dj-ing when he heard different radio cassettes mixes from pioneers like Marley Marl, Dj Red Alert, and the Latin Rascals. These influences were so great that he took his Dad's Panasonic non-direct drive turntable, a Radio Shack mixer and speakers to school to perform for his classmates, this was the creation of a DJ who we now know as Dj Asiatic.
