Founded in 1957, The SVC is a non-profit international, professional organization primarily devoted to coating and surface finishing technologies using vacuum processes. Our international membership draws from industry, academia, and national/government research laboratories. The SVC’s annual TechCon is generally regarded as the thin film community’s premier trade exhibition, technical conference, and educational summit focusing on the applied applications of the technologies that comprise the extremely broad field of vacuum coating. The SVC’s mission is to promote technical excellence by providing a global organization to inform, educate, and engage the members, the technical community, and the public on all aspects of vacuum coating, surface engineering and related technologies.
