Green Light Community Workshop is a Community Interest Company set up in Bedford (UK) The aim of Green Light is to improve the well-being of target groups within the local community, through education to empower individuals and families to make healthy eating and living choices on a budget for a positive healthy lifestyle The motivation behind this came from Director Randolph Augustine of Green Light Health and Safety Consultancy, who having worked for a charity for the homeless and veterans, Randolph identified a real need for education on healthy eating and nutrition for the service users within the projects. A pilot study was developed with the support of the charity for local 16-25 year old living in local Houses of Multiple Occupation (HMO). The response from the young people was overwhelming. Individuals who would normally spend their days alone came together in a kitchen and worked as a team cooking, chatting and developing new skills to help them eat more nut.
