As a black vegetarian turned pescetarian turned vegetarian and back I've heard every joke under the sun about what I could and couldn't eat in my culture. You wouldn't believe! (i.e. "Sorry, we're out of vegetarian water..." cue laughter) At the start of my journey I'd feel unfulfilled about the food choices compared to what I would normally eat. So, I started creating my own mouth-watering recipes that are favorites in the African American community and "hoods" across America, while staying true to my healthier lifestyle.
