This channel seeks to capture, restore, archive and publish VHS releases that might otherwise be lost. VHS is an ephemeral medium, due to the natural degradation of VHS tape by 2100 nearly every commercially released VHS will have degraded to the point where it is unplayable. This channel seeks to save those productions released exclusively on VHS that might forever be lost. The videos hosted here do not necessarily represent any policy, endorsement or opinion of any kind on the part of VHS Ark and are meant to showcase VHS production styles, raise awareness to the problem of VHS degradation and emphasize the potential utility of protecting and curating VHS presentations.
