Vance Faulks grew up keeping rhythm with No 2 pencils on the hood of an old blue Dodge while his Dad, Jimmy Faulks, and Uncle Jamie Jewel played bluegrass under the stars. The magic continued in the bars where his Dad played dancehall music and the fireside singing at family camping trips. After early years of coffee-houses and pickup bands, he eventually formed the Groove Junkies with his dad and Geno Stroia—three Budweiser bar stools and a dream that grew into band playing shows at Antone’s, Saxon Pub, La Zona Rosa, Steamboat and a Wednesday night residency at Shakespeare’s on 6th Street where he met his wife Stacy. Life slowed the gigging, but he continued to feel the itch to write. Now, Vance is ready to share his gift on his own terms— original songs that blend red-dirt country, blues and bluegrass soul with pure Americana storytelling.
