Monty Bennett is the chairman and founder of Braemar Hotels & Resorts. He also founded Ashford Hospitality Trust and is currently the CEO of Ashford, Inc. Mr. Bennett divides his time between Henderson County and Dallas counties in Texas. Bennett has a long history in the hotel industry. He started as a bellman at The Ritz-Carlton Dallas and worked his way up the ranks. In 2013, he founded Braemar Hotels & Resorts as an offshoot of Ashford Hospitality Trust. Under his expert guidance, the company enjoys 13 property holdings. These holdings include two signature properties: The Ritz-Carlton St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands and The Ritz-Carlton Lake Tahoe in Nevada County, California. Monty started Braemar Hotels & Resorts with a vision to create a company that embraced five guiding principles: ethics, innovation, profitability, engagement, and tenacity. These five core values have served as the foundation for everything Braemar does and continue to guide the company as it grows.
