For a century, the War Memorial Park has honoured Coventrians who have died in combat. But the Park is also home to 80 benches, donated by families to remember lost loved ones. In 2019, the Friends of the War Memorial Park set out to contact these families – and find out more about the people they decided to commemorate in this way. It started as a “social history” project: but the stories we discovered were so interesting that we think they deserve a wider audience. This channel is the repository for these stories.
