In September 27th of 2019 my life as I knew it was turned upside down. I married a woman in 2010 that I met in school in 2008. I always wanted a big family and when I met her, she told me she felt the same way I thought I was in heaven. Little did I know, during that time, I learned what a narcissist/personality disorder is and how it affects people. I found out that everything she told me for 12 years was a lie. She had multiple affairs, when my eldest was born, she began leaving me alone with our child and she would leave 3 to 4 days at a time. I still have a hard time trusting reality from the things she did to me. And I’ve also learned what problems of my own led me down that path and contributed to it. No, I am not responsible for the failure of our family or what she did. I am responsible for not standing up for myself and doing the right things sooner, and for thinking I could fix her. Or really it honestly was more of a hope, for our sons our family.
