Welcome to Alicia's in the Kitchen, a channel where I share family recipes, cooking techniques and tips, canning methods, meal planning, frugal living and so much more. From the time I could stand in a kitchen chair, I was always in the kitchen watching my great-grandmother (you read that right) make biscuits, cook southern classics, and pinch pennies to make dimes. We didn't have a lot of money, but we never went hungry and we didn't eat processed anything. I learned so many valuable skills from Nanny (that was what we called her), and have also come up with my own ways to stretch food and add flavor in the kitchen. If you are looking for comfort food that takes you back to your grandmother's table you are in the right place, because that is what we love to share. We might even show you how to grow a thing or two if you decide to hang around until garden season.
