Yoni is an Adoption Coach and Trainer. She has 30 years experience working with children, adopters, foster carers and care leavers. Yoni was transracially adopted age 1, and had many challenges growing up in a whole white environment. Yoni and her civil partner have adopted two beautiful, talented and inspirational girls who are now successful young adults. "I passionately believe that when and only when birth families are unable to care for children, adoption provides children the permanence they need. However I also don't believe that adopters we are not always given the tools and preparation to be the best adoptive parents they can be. The challenge for adopters is to be self aware, empathetic and passionate parents. They need to be excellent advocates despite the fact that agencies are not always giving them practical solutions to assist them in knowing how. Yoni creates a range of resources for adopters to help. (Also helpful for foster carers)
