Habitat for Humanity of Key West and Lower Florida Key is a nonprofit organization that helps families build and improve places to call home. We believe affordable housing, and particularly homeownership, plays a critical role in strong and stable communities and should be a viable option for residents of various incomes. Habitat for Humanity builds decent and affordable homes in the Lower Florida Keys in partnership with families in need of a decent place to live. Habitat homebuyers help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. We also make critical home repairs for seniors on fixed incomes and low income residents. Habitat also maintains 27 affordable rental units and advocates for policy in support of affordable housing.
