Scammers are everywhere. It is my job to expose them and bring awareness to their scams to prevent future victims. In this video we expose the Microsoft technical support scammers. The scam works by making the victim believe they have a virus on their computer, this is done by setting up a website and placing a fake Virus alert on the website they will then advertise this website on other sites to bring in traffic. Once a victim has found the site they will phone the Microsoft technical support scammers. Once the call connects it is the scammers job to trick the victim into believing they are on the phone to Microsoft or a legitimate technical support company. They will then gain the trust of the victim and convince the person into giving the scammer access to their computer. Now the scammer is on the computer they will show the victim programs such as Msconfig or eventvewier, they will try to make the victim believe the errors they see are due to a virus.
