Jalen Deshawn Tobar (born June 22, 1998), known professionally as Ezedike, is an American social scientist and multidisciplinary artist. The title Ezedike (pronounced Ez-uh-dee-kay) is Nigerian in origin. It is a word created by the Igbo tribe for their royalty – specifically meaning mighty king. Though they are American & non-binary, Ezedike has stated that they, “chose this word to represent black excellence and to honor their position within the diaspora.” They’re currently laying the foundation for their production company, whose mission is to “breathe life into queer, black identity through various mediums and disciplines."
