Thrifting, clothing flips, and styling inspired by the alternative scenes of the late 70s, the 80s, and early 90s. Punk, new wave, ska, proto punk, grunge. If my memory is right I bought my first piece of second hand clothing at the age of 10. It was a dark blue wrap skirt and it fired a life long love of both second hand clothes and anything that wraps. I found New Wave as a freshman in high school. I saw a cover band at the fall dance perform I'll Melt with You by The Romantics. I knew whatever that was, the sound and the look, I wanted it. I found the other artists in 9th grade and the Punks in my Jr year. The ethics of DIY, anti-capitalism, anti-consumerism and non-conformity are as integral to my at 52 as they were in my teens.
