About

I am an award- winning educator with over a decade of working at management level in the secondary education sector. I am a confident and focused individual with commendable skills in curriculum planning and development and policy development. I revel in sharing ideas, communicating concepts and having inspiring conversations with learners. My personal teaching philosophy is: “Teach children the way they learn”. As a millennial educator, I advocate for this notion and believe that educators need to be transformative in their method and manner of teaching. I believe this will encourage a more holistic educational experience and I look forward to being part of the change I would like to see; be it big or small. In 2020, MTN awarded me with a ‘South African Hero’ award for my online teaching initiative during the national lockdown on my YouTube channel called “Swaggy School Teacher”. In 2022, I had the honour of being a part of the Mail and Guardian 200 Young South Africans cohort.
