Located in Kailua, Hawaii on the island of Oahu, the mission of Windward Buddhist Temple is to enrich people with a life of gratitude, harmony, and peace by sharing the Jodo Shinshu Buddhist teachings. Windward Buddhist Temple, a Jodo Shinshu Buddhist temple, is a branch of the Honpa Hongwanji Mission of Hawaii serving Windward Oahu. In January 2019, Kailua Hongwanji Mission officially became Windward Buddhist Temple, reflecting the broader reach of its sangha in Windward Oahu.
