Machrie is an Independent Fee-Based Financial Planning business established in 1991 that believes our clients should be advised and not sold. We like to clearly distinguish between Providing Advice and Analysis vs Selling Financial Products. In our opinion, there is an inherent disconnect and risk when "advice" is dependent on the sale of a product for the planner to be remunerated when engaging with a client. Our experience is that clients often need advice and guidance without a corresponding need for a product. We thus offer various services such as Retirement Planning, Estate Planning, Investment Planning and Tax Optimisation on a paid consultation basis without ever having to discuss a product if you already have a provider you work with or if you want to find your own product provider. Clients who know what they want and only need comparisons between various providers don't have to pay any consultation fees since we earn a fee from the providers of the products.
