Welcome to my channel . I've put up a few lessons to hopefully help some of you guitarist learn a little bit about jazz guitar without going through the struggles I went through , although it's been great fun learning and i'm still learning . I've also put up some videos of my playing . I started playing guitar at age 9 in 1948 which makes me 82 years old in 2021 . my first guitar was a beautiful Kay which I purchased in honolulu for $20.00 brand new . I was living in Kailua Oahu at the time . the action on this guitar was so high that it was a struggle to play . I mostly played old country tunes and Hawaiian music and some slack key . at age 11 I played Hawaiian music with bella Richards hula troop . just rhythm . in 1953 we moved to California . when I was 18 I was introduced to jazz . man ! I fell hard in love with it ! my goal was to learn as many jazz tunes as I could by the time I was old enough to play in the nite clubs . I played jazz in the nite clubs from 1960 to 1983 .
