Welcome to the Carolina Theatre, a fully functioning nonprofit performing arts center in a historic theatre! Billed as the "Showplace of the Carolinas" when she opened as a vaudeville movie palace on Halloween night in 1927, the Carolina is now celebrating her 90th anniversary! Over 100,000 people are welcomed through her doors each year to attend concerts from artists across all genres, classic and independent movies, community theatre and dance, as well as local performances in our third-floor loft theatre, The Crown. "Presenting Arts, Preserving History" is the mission CT works to fulfill every day. The Carolina has been home to the Greensboro Ballet, Community Theatre of Greensboro, Greensboro Opera, and other local performing arts groups. Civic groups, businesses, and individuals also rent the facility for seminars, meeting, receptions, and even for weddings!
