Assuring Access to Quality Health Care for Persons with Disabilities is a free suite of videos aimed at educating current and future health care professionals on strategies to communicate with and accommodate patients with a variety of disabilities. The videos can be shown as stand-alone training modules, as a series, or complementary to a panel of individuals with disabilities and/or family members sharing their personal health care experiences and suggestions. The people you will meet in the videos are not professional actors. Though the information they share may seem like common sense, the clips are based on real-life experiences and designed to offer suggestions for improving access to health care for persons with disabilities and their families. These videos were created by the University of Iowa Center for Disabilities and Development in partnership with the Midwest Public Health Training Center and Iowa Department of Public Health.
