From her start as youngest headliner in the history of the Montreal Jazz Fest at 12, Nikki has covered tons of territory over the last 7 years. She's topped both jazz & pop charts, performed all over the world, and in 2010, she sang to 3.2 billion people -- ½ the world's population -- at the Vancouver Olympics. She's worked with luminaries such as Herbie Hancock, Will.i.am, Wyclef Jean, and Elton John, & now, under the guidance of Quincy Jones, she is ready to introduce her new sound. Quincy helped guide the recording and is Exec Producer on the album. Nikki's second studio release, Little Secret, to be released later this year, combines pop-song structures with sophisticated harmonies, punchy big-band horns with earworm hooks & scat-singing solos. Her approach is epitomized by Something New, which cheekily adapts the hooks from Jones's Soul Bossa Nova & Hancock's Watermelon Man to a strutting groove, & features the full breadth of her vocals, from a soulful roar to a kittenish growl
