Hermes is the God of chivalry, loyalty, camaraderie, irrigation, commerce, treasure, love, endurance, and responsibility. He is clairvoyant, bourgeois, astute, and a cunning warrior. Hermes, friend of the boatman Charon, has the capacity to cross between the boundaries of Middle Earth and Lower Earth. No God or Human can cross the "River Styx", without the permission of Hermes. Hermes was the only God with the capacity to repair the "Eastern Gate" in Tartarus, and repair the "Divine Book of the Living". He stole back souls stolen from the "Divine Book of the Living" and restored their names. Hermes was also recognized as the one that freed Prometheus, by guiding Heracles to his location. Hermes also freed his brother Aries. Having the vitality of a cunning strategist, Hermes sought to prove himself by stealing Apollo's cattle, Poseidon's trident, the arrows of Artemis, the wine glass of Dionysos, Aphrodite's formal regalia, & Heracles shield. Hermes is heir to his father's throne.
