Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System is comprised of two main campuses [LR & NLR], and eight Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) strategically placed throughout the state. CAVHS serves about 164,000 veterans residing throughout 46 counties in Arkansas. CAVHS is one of the largest VA medical centers in the country. It delivers a broad spectrum of inpatient and outpatient services, ranging from disease prevention and primary care, to complex surgical procedures and extended rehabilitative care. The System serves as a teaching facility for more than 1,500 students and residents enrolled in approximately 90 educational affiliates; its principal affiliate is the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
