CAN is a unique and engaging summer enrichment program for rural middle school students. The program positions students to return to school in the fall empowered and motivated to start the year with enthusiasm and strengthened skills. CAN’s Peer Mentor Program provides local college students with paid opportunities to gain hands-on teaching experience while working directly alongside veteran teachers. The Peer Mentor Program develops a pool of future local educators to grow the rural teacher workforce. CAN also provides summer employment opportunities to teachers in rural communities, offering them the chance to bring their expertise to a hands-on learning environment.
