The baking rat started to provide healthy dessert recipes for people who love dessert but are also health conscious or have food sensitivities. My name is Mia, a fourth-year student at the University of Iowa. As a student, I struggle with balancing school and life outside of school. In my free time, I enjoy baking! As someone with food sensitivities, I use a lot of gluten-free and dairy-free recipes and have discovered the world of healthy desserts. Healthy dessert sounds like an oxymoron, but anyone can make a healthy dessert just by changing the ingredients that are used. Don’t get me wrong, regular dessert is always good and I love having ice cream and brownies, but for my lifestyle, I’ve found that focusing on baking healthy desserts is the best!
