Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) is a private higher education institution in Malaysia which was founded in June 2002. The university is highly reputed as one of the fastest growing institutions in the country. The university's enrolment has reached over 23,000 students with campuses located in Bandar Sungai Long, Kuala Lumpur, Petaling Jaya and Kampar, Perak (main campus). UTAR has also produced over 32,000 graduates since its inaugural convocation in 2005. Currently, it offers more than 110 academic programmes. The university is committed to promoting research and scholastic developments in diverse fields and has established UTAR Global Research Network for this purpose. The university, since established, has nine endowed professorial chairs to create a close collaboration with various industries. UTAR's efforts to excel have won it its rank as one of the top 300 universities in Asia in 2012 and 2013 by QS World University Rankings.
