In this new millennium, aquaculture nutrition domain has been morphing itself to a more nutritional physiology based research encompassing from better understanding of different components of an ingredient to the effect of functional ingredients or functional components of an ingredients on the animals. If the last century was to build the foundation of fish nutrition by defining analytical methods for digestibility of nutrients, this century is to understand how individual form of nutrients or anti-nutrients effects physiology of the animals, and to determine the enzymatic and non-enzymatic pathways of nutrient assimilation processes. This forum intends to bring traditional and novel ideas together providing a platform for exchange of information among the experts and other interested individuals. This will hopefully be a start-up process for reducing the existing methodological variations and building common guidelines in aquaculture nutrition.
