I retired after 38 years in law enforcement. I was a firearms instructor most of that time and was lead instructor at police academies for 16 years. I was active in PPC competition, earning a spot on the Michigan Governor’s Twenty for fifteen consecutive years, along with numerous other local, state and National awards. With Rider’s-Range, I intend to share my thoughts and experience by providing education, information, testing and comparison of firearms and related equipment, along with safety and training information, though I may get sidetracked into other topics on occasion. Although I have been teaching and training for many, many years, I have been learning even longer, starting with my training with the United States Navy SeaBees prior to deploying to Vietnam, and continuing to this day.
