South Dakota EPSCoR oversees the state’s involvement in federal EPSCoR (Established Program to Stimulate Competitive Research) programs and management of the National Science Foundation (NSF) Track-1 project, “Expanding Research, Education and Innovation in South Dakota.” SD EPSCoR does this through a collaboration of state and private universities, tribal colleges, state government and industry. Its state- and federally funded projects bolster South Dakota’s developing research infrastructure for an educated and skilled workforce in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) and support an innovative business ecosystem.
