Brom covers the emerging psychedelics industry from a business, investing and social impact perspective. Brom Rector is the founder and general partner of Empath Ventures, a venture capital fund that invests in early stage startups focused on psychedelic medicine. Personally, Brom has been using using psychedelics for most of his adult life and has found them extremely beneficial for purposes of mental hygiene, internal exploration and perspective shifting. Brom is a staunch proponent of ending the war on drugs and making psychedelic medicine accessible to all. Prior to starting Empath, Brom spent 7 years as a quant-researcher & portfolio manager at multiple hedge funds. Brom is a CFA charterholder and received an MS in Computer Science with a focus on Machine Learning from Georgia Tech.
