About

I created this channel to showcase videos of cooking and baking with my mother, affectionately known to all of us as "Maw." We have a lot of fun in the kitchen, and I like to hear her talk about where her recipes come from, how any that she developed came about, and in general, I enjoy watching her and learning from her. Mom was born and raised in Canada, but has lived all of her adult life here in the states. Her father was from Norway, and growing up in Canada she was surrounded by many different cultures. She lived in Niles, Ill for several years, where she raised me and my siblings, and she was exposed to even more nationalities. Our family and friends include people who are Danish, Scandinavian, Italian, Polish, Bohemian, and Slavic, among others. My father was born in Texas, so he taught her some southern dishes, and when we moved to Dallas where we live now, she learned yet more about Texan and Southern cuisine. in a nutshell, she's a good cook!
