It is compulsory to learn English as a subject in Sri Lanka. Students learn this subject over ten years in the school.But once they leave the school after O/L or A/L exam they are not able to speak or write a simple correct sentence. According to my experience the main reason for this is the difference of the structures of the two languages. So we must use a proper system to make them to do exercise and practice them thoroughly with the assistance of elders.
