The Alabama Channel is a project of the League of Women Voters of Alabama Education Fund. It is a video resource library for Alabamians to view live, recorded and indexed footage of Alabama’s Legislative meetings. The mission of The Alabama Channel is to facilitate civic engagement and enhance public awareness of Alabama's state government by delivering easily accessible and searchable video content capturing the essence of the state's Legislative meetings. Through our platform, we aim to promote transparency, encourage active participation, and empower individuals to be informed and engaged citizens in shaping Alabama's governance. Alabama’s legislature live-streams meetings, but does not record them for later viewing. We believe every citizen should have access to not only live but recorded footage of legislative meetings. The Alabama Channel offers the ability for users to quickly and easily search through meeting footage to locate bills or issues of importance to them.
