I would like to welcome everyone to my YouTube channel. My name is Michael Morale. I am 52 years old and I live with a disease called Spinal Muscular Atrophy. SMA is a neuromuscular disease that has caused me to get weaker as I have gotten older. The FDA just approved the first treatment for SMA, and fortunately, I am one of the lucky ones who is able to receive this potentially life-changing treatment. As I go through the process of receiving my injections, I will document not only my journey, but will also champion for others who have the same disease. My goal is to make my YouTube channel a place where people can learn not only about SMA, but you will also have the ability to learn about me. As my treatments come to an end, I will make my channel more of a personal VLOG, where I will continue producing videos about my everyday life.
