MTSU’s Department of the Recording Industry contains Grammy and industry award-winning faculty who teach students current topics of the music industry including recording technology, artist management, music marketing and branding, live events production and management, publishing, legal and contract issues, and commercial songwriting. The department is consistently featured in lists of top music industry schools compiled by leading industry organizations including Billboard’s Best Music Business Schools, Hollywood Reporter’s Top Music Schools, and College Magazine’s Top Schools for Music Recording Technology and Audio Design. Audio Assemble recently awarded it the status of the Best Audio Engineering School in the US. Three concentration areas are offered: Audio Production, Music Business, and Commercial Songwriting.
