In the Spring of 2016 when teaching a negotiation boot camp at Baylor Law School, an African American woman asked whether race or gender played a role in negotiation or in my career. I became introspective and knew from that point that negotiation skills needed to be taught not only in law schools, but also to underrepresented groups who are starting new businesses at record levels, becoming CEOs, engaging in side hustles, demanding equal pay or just trying to get the most out of life. I also realized that I could help. Having been a deal lawyer for 17 years, an adjunct professor teaching a negotiation boot camp and an entrepreneur, I’ve been fortunate to have great experiences but also to have been around some of the best negotiators and coaches. My goal is to bring value to you, your ventures and help you achieve your negotiation goals so that we can win at the negotiation table and in life.
