Non-profit Succeed2gether launched its Montclair Literary Festival in 2017 to promote literacy and reading for all, and to celebrate reading, literature, and Montclair’s vibrant and diverse literary scene. Since its inception, the festival has seen audiences double and showcased such authors as Trevor Noah, Paul Auster, Patti Smith, Joyce Carol Oates, Jennifer Egan, Elizabeth Alexander, Don Winslow, Anna Quindlen, Meg Wolitzer, Sigrid Nunez, Thomas Friedman, Tom Perrotta, Nathan Englander, Chelsea Handler, Wesley Lowery, Jonathan Alter, Min Jin Lee, and many more. In addition, there is a full program of FREE book talks, panel discussions, author signings, workshops and children’s activities. The festival is a fundraiser for Succeed2gether which provides free education programs for low-income families in Essex County, NJ.
